Jolly Roger Flags

We stock several styles and sizes of Jolly Roger flags at the Flag Emporium. Although historians disagree about whether the term "Jolly Roger" ever referred to one specific flag design, it is now used as a generic name for all pirate-type flags. The majority of our Jolly Roger flags feature the simple skull and crossbones, but we do carry one with an alternative design.

Our 3x5' Jolly Roger flag with Red Scarf and Golden Earring is made of high-quality, weather-resistant polyester. It's embroidered--not dyed--and looks precisely the same when viewed from either side. This spectacular pirate flag creates a dramatic vision when mounted outside your home. Hang it inside and turn your family's recreation room into a swashbuckler's dream.

The History of Jolly Roger Flags

Back when pirates ruled the seas, each had his own version of the Jolly Roger flag. Most pirate flags included some representation of a skull and crossbones, or even a complete skeleton. Many also featured daggers, swords and blood. Not all Jolly Roger flags were black and white, like the ones we commonly see today. Some were blood red, and these were often used to strike terror into the heart of a pirate's victims.

Those fascinated by pirate history will find a number of fun collectibles at the Flag Emporium. We sell Jolly Roger lapel pins, coffee mugs and even a stuffed pirate bear. All of our pirate flag products are made of the finest quality materials and competitively priced to ensure your satisfaction.
